Tokyo – Third Weekend

Since I was originally not planning on having this entire weekend in Tokyo, I wasn’t quite sure what I wanted to do.  I decided I was going to take it slow this weekend and just check out a few places that I hadn’t seen yet or wanted to go back to.  So Saturday I went to check out this park by my hotel that I am constantly walking past to get to the train station, but have never been in.  This is a typical Japanese garden and was quite amazing.  It is very interesting how everything within the garden has some sort of meaning.  After I was done hanging out there, I headed back to Tsukji to get some sushi for lunch.  I figured that I had to have sushi from the fish market.  From here it was back to Akihabara to go to Yodobashi Camera and shop.  I could spend hours in this place!  It’s so much bigger than Fry’s!  Plus there was so much more stuff in there.  Whether you’re building a computer, just need some peripheral, setting up your own dance club, looking for video games, need furniture, or more you’ll find it here!  Unfortunately I had to leave so that I could get a bite to eat before the conference call I had to attend that night!

Sunday I decided to head back to Yoyogi Park and spend the day walking around and checking out the different bands and other performers.  There was also a big Earth Day celebration.  Who knew that Japan had so many hippies?!?!  :)  I know that my friend Gerry from work would have loved it!  :)  I didn’t do much else that day except eat some good street food and relax while checking out everything that was going on.  I also went to the shrine just north of the park which was interesting as well because of the number of weddings that were going on that day.
