To travel to Uruguay, I took the ferry from BA to Colonia. The plan was to stay in Colonia for a night and then head to Montevideo the next afternoon. On the ride from the airport to the ferry landing, I had a nice chat with the taxi driver in Spanish. The longer I travel, the better I´m able to pick up on Spanish words. I´m pretty happy about this, but still a long way off from being able to speak fluently. Upon arriving at the Buquebus terminal, I got in line to buy a ticket. After reserving a ticket, I then had to go to another window to pay. I found out when I went to pay that I was booked on the midnight ferry to Colonia…this was not what I wanted. I had to go back to the ticket line and get things straightened out there and then go back to the pay line and pay. I was quite worried as I went to board as for some reason my ticket had the date for the next day on it. They let me on though and within an hour of departing we arrived in Colonia. I immediately found a place to stay and then started to check out the town. That night as I talked with some people in the hostel, I decided to ditch the trip to Montevideo and stay the next day in Colonia and travel back to BA from there. The next morning I booked a ticket back to BA from Colonia and spent hours walking around the city and beaches. The next day I wasn´t heading back to BA until late afternoon, so I rented a scooter to tool around for a couple hours on. What a blast, even if I increased my sunburn! Finally it was time to head back to the Buquebus terminal to make the trip back to BA for my final few hours in Argentina.
