What a long day my first day in England was. It actually started before I got here when my flight out of Pittsburgh was delayed due to air traffic and weather. Luckily I made my connection without a problem and got into London with no issues. Upon landing at LHR I jumped on the Underground and headed to my hostel to drop off my bag. Since it was 8am when I got to the hostel, I had to store my bag since I couldn’t check in yet. While I was checking in, I met someone who was planning on doing the double decker bus tour as well, so we headed off together. I was quite jet lagged and dozed off for a few minutes during the ride in some of the slow parts. The tour was well worth it as I got to see quite a bit and got a good sense of the city. After a lunch of fish and chips, which was not spectacular though I did not expect it to be, I headed off to do the river tour. This was after walking around a bit and seeing a number of street performers. I then headed back to the hostel where Henry (the guy I met that morning) and I met up again and headed to get some Indian food for dinner. I forced myself to stay up to try and combat the jet lag. I was successful as I headed to bed late that night.
