As my final day began, I checked out of my hostel and stored my bags there as I didn’t want to carry them around all day. One of the things I had yet to do was to check out the changing of the guard, so I headed to Buckingham Palace to see what it was like. I wasn’t terribly impressed with it. I did enjoy getting to listen to the bands play though as well as seeing the procession. After I was bored, I grabbed some lunch before heading back over to the London Eye. This was something I was interested in doing, but hadn’t done yet. It was pretty warm and the line was long, so I decided to forego the adventure in the London Eye. Instead I walked around a bit checking out the street performers as well as stopping to get a drink. Since my flight was early the next morning, I had decided to stay in a hotel by the airport that night. Knowing that it would take me awhile to get there and that I wanted to get there before dark, I headed back to the hostel to grab my bag. Unfortunately I chose rush hour to head to the airport. The tube was packed! Luckily I was able to squeeze into a car for the hour ride to the airport. I then had to find a way to the hotel which was a couple miles from the airport. I ended up taking a local bus, which was quite interesting. The bus driver was kind enough to help me out and make sure I got off at the right stop. After dinner at the hotel and a quick stroll around the area, I headed to bed so that I could get up early and head to the airport for the long flight home.
